When it comes to sending letters to your favorite characters, there is no wrong way to go about it. Take your time, whistle while you work, and use this opportunity to write a message from the heart. While you may write separate personal letters to each individual Disney character, you will most likely receive a postcard that has been signed by numerous characters. While they’d love to respond by sending you a personalized letter, they’re extremely busy making movies, riding in parades, signing autographs in the parks, and making guest appearances all over the world. Not to mention we have it on pretty good authority that they may refrain from sending you customized autographs to further entice you to have to take a Disney vacation to the parks!

And if you’re wondering, you can send more than just fan letters! Rumor has it several birthdays and wedding invitations have been sent to both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. A few lucky engaged couples have even received a postcard with Minnie kissing Mickey and a note that reads, “Congratulations and Best Wishes! Your Pal, Mickey Mouse, Love and Kisses, Minnie Mouse, xoxo”.

Before you head to the mailbox to send your letter, make a copy, as these Disney celebrities like to hang on to the original for their autograph collection. In addition, be sure to mark your envelope with a return address and include a return address in your letter, even if they are the same. To increase your chances of correspondence, we suggest that you write to both Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California.

It typically takes several (4 – 8) weeks to receive a signed postcard. While Disney doesn’t guarantee that every single Disney character will be available to respond, below is a list of the eligible characters that are most common:
